Reading needs no account and stores nothing about you. This page covers what changes if you sign in.
Reading
Every text is free to read without an account. Your display choices (dark mode, text size, which lines are shown) are kept in your own browser and never sent to us. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you.
What we keep if you sign in
You sign in with Google. We keep only:
- From Google: your Google account id, email address, name and the link to your profile photo. Never your password, contacts or anything else in your Google account.
- Your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and when you gave it.
- The verses and texts you like. No one else can see them, and there are no public counts.
- Your signed-in devices: when each sign-in started, when it ends, and the browser type, so you stay signed in for 30 days.
- When your account was created and when you last visited.
We use this only to sign you in and show your likes. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or send you email.
Cookies
Signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in, and a second one that tells the page you are. Two short-lived cookies (10 minutes) carry the sign-in through Google. All are needed for signing in; there are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who handles it
Google confirms who you are when you sign in. Cloudflare hosts the site and the database your account is stored in.
How long, and your choices
We keep your account until you delete it. On your account page you can download everything we hold about you as one file, or delete your account and every like at once. Your name and photo follow your Google account and update the next time you sign in.
Age
Accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Anyone can read every text without one.
